Battle Wounds

Today I went to see Mitchel Musso (Oliver form Hannah Montana) at the TLA on South St in Philly. I sort of feel embarassed saying I'm going to see him since he's a disney kid but he IS veryyyyyyyyy good looking. Heres some proof: Mitchel

I had meet and greet for the show because of my friend but of course I had to get lost in philly because of the stupid south street detour and I missed it. I wasnt too upset though. When I got there I only thought He and a group called KSM were playing but when I walked in and looked over at the merch I saw a familiar name on a t-shirt.... Jimmy Robbins........

I was soooooooooooo happy to see that he was playing. I think I was more excited to see him play than the headliner. He went on first, no one knew who he was but I jammed out. This was my first time seeing him live and I must say, he has great stage presence. I was blown away, and I also think I fell in love a little bit. haha but Every girl in the room did. He only played about 4 songs and I really wish he could have sone a full set. I can say confidently that I will deffinately be seeing him again. I'm going to try to get him to play here at my college.

After Jimmy, KSM came on, I wasnt really excited to see them at first because they were a disney group only played on radio disney and I dont know I sort of just brushed them off as being a kiddie group. But I was wayyy off. KSM is an all girl band. A girl drummer, guitarists, bass player and singer. They were pretty good. There was actually talent there. They sort of reminded me of the 80's group The Bangles. They have a cover out now of Cheap Tricks "I want you to want me".

I can see them doing pretty well in the future if people give them a chance. It seems like band with girls in them arent taken very seriously. The only band that has actually made it to the "top" would have to be PARAMORE. But they fought for that spot. It seems like every group that comes out with a female singer is comapred to Paramore and is just brushed off and isnt given a chance. Why can there be a million successful bands of all guys but only one true successful band with a female singer. That makes no sense at all to me.

Finally after KSM it was time for Mitchel. Now I've seen him live once or twice before but this time was different. This crowd was different. There were soooo many little kids... "Teenie Boppers" and the pushing was REDIC. It was actually worse than any Jonas Brothers show I've ever been to when they still played GA events. The Jonas brothers is another story that I probably wont tell for a while if i tell at all. Anyway, So Some freaking bitch kept putting her long hair in my face and was leaning back trying to get me to move and there was no way I was getting out of my spot so I folded my arms and stuck out my elbows so next time she tried pushing me she got elbowed right in the spine. If she got hurt, I'd have no sympathy haha... Just so you know, I'm pretty fierce at concerts if you couldnt tell that already. Through out the show Mitchel kept coming over to my side of the stage and kept sticking his face in my camera... you'd think that'd be cool but when theres a bunch of screaming girls trying to get into his pants around you, It's not all cupcakes and butterflies. I cant tell you how many times I had to hit people to back up a bit. Mitchel did good as always. He does have a good voice but I found myself looking at him for a majority of the time instead of listening to him but I can be excused for that since I've seen him before.

I have battle wounds from this show... I dont normally leave shows with battle wounds and I'm so sore from standing my ground in the crowd but It was worth it overall. I got to talk to Jimmy afterwards, he was sooooo adorable and such a sweetheart. It was a pretty successful day overall.

  1. That...is...awesome! What, do you go to concerts every weekend? lol. Maybe you would be interested in AFI playing at the Electric Factory in November. It's nice to find someone else who made their blog about music. I don't know about that Paramore thing though. I for one love Lacuna Coil. I do think that there are less at least, but there are plenty of good bands out there with women.
